Art in International Relations and Conflict

Podcast on "Blogs of War - Covert Contact" with art historian Dr. Bailey

Dr. Julia Tatiana Bailey is specialised in visual politics in the Cold War and international relations (eg art as propaganda, diplomacy and resistance). Her PhD focus lies on official and unofficial Soviet-American cultural exchange. She works as "Assistant Curator of International Art" at Tate Modern in London. Read her blogs at Espionart.

The podcast, hosted by Blogs of War creator John Little, discusses the importance of art in international relations and conflict – lessons-learned and how it can be leveraged for influence. The discussion focuses on art as an instrument in the Cold War. Nevertheless, also current developments in international relations are tackled such as concerns about technology and surveillance.
