1998-2005 Directing Class at film school HFF „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam-Babelsberg near Berlin.
Graduation with the feature film PINPGONG, premiered in the Critics Week in Cannes 2006.
2001/02 Participant of the Atelier Ludwigsburg / Paris, a one-year training programme for budding European film producers.
Since 2006, as well as working on his own films as a writer and director, Matthias Luthardt has regularly taught at film schools and cultural institutions in Germany and abroad.
He is represented by the agency ABOVE THE LINE and a member of the European Film Academy.
